The Government has announced it will be scrapping plans to cut Personal Independence Payment (PIP) – a financial lifeline for people with Parkinson’s.
Further cuts also unlikely
This means that planned changes to make PIP more difficult to claim by cutting points, will not be going ahead from 2017.
Further cuts to PIP in the near future are also much less likely. The Government has said that the money it had expected to save from making these cuts will not come out of the budget for disability benefits.
