Meet the team

Jo Wright, Joint CEO

How do you achieve success in your role?

I have worked in Payroll Giving since 1993, starting as a booking officer and working my way up to working on Business Development and then specialist Payroll Giving projects for charities. This has given me the base from which to develop the strongest, most hardworking teams I know and they, with guidance and team work, have built one of the largest, ethical and successful PFO’s.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

My Father was a brilliant business man and role model. He taught me how to treat people with dignity, honesty and respect. He also told me the only person who would ever stop me achieving in life was myself.

What do you love most about what you do?

The relationships we build and seeing people learn and love #PayrollGiving as much as I do.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Do not make a permanent decision on a temporary emotion.

What do you love most about what you do?

I had to narrow this down to two things! The huge social impact – payroll giving is changing and improving lives, environments, research and future policies and secondly, genuinely the people. I am privileged to work with some really inspiring and motivated people, from our staff, suppliers, charities and corporate partners.

Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you.

I am absolutely terrified of heights I have tried to conquer this fear by climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Auckland Sky tower, the Rockefeller Centre and the Willis Tower in Chicago with no success – where shall I try next!

Bettina Irvine, Corporate Development Manager

How do you achieve #success in your role?

By listening to what our clients want and exploring the options that we have available and develop them to come up with a solution that can evolve and develop as time moves forward. Listening internally within our team is just as important to make sure we are all working towards the same goal.

What is the best #advice you’ve ever received?

To accept help, I do like to be in control. We are all working towards the same goals and this creates less pressure on one individual alone.
What do you #love most about what you do? The rapport we build up with our corporate clients – we have clients we have worked with for years, these relationships evolve and develop over time with the end result achieving more income for the charities which is amazing. The stories we hear from employees about their personal experiences and involvement with charities is a privilege. The fact that they feel comfortable in discussing these areas that are so personal to them and often can be upsetting is truly #inspirational.
