626,000 individuals live with epilepsy in the UK- that’s 1 in 100 people. One person is diagnosed with epilepsy every 18 minutes.
Epilepsy can affect anyone, of any age, at any time. It always has an impact, and not just on the life of the person diagnosed.
Epilepsy Action’s vision is to create a world without limits for people with epilepsy. Our new strategy means that by 2030, we want everyone with epilepsy to know we are here to improve their lives, and to create a positive attitude towards epilepsy so people are proud to talk about the condition.
We support anyone affected by epilepsy- whether it’s their first seizure or if they are living their life seizure free. Parents, healthcare professionals, teachers, employers- it’s our mission for everyone to know what epilepsy is, and how to support people living with the condition.
